Valley salon helps honor Tucson shooting victims

PHOENIX - Valley business, R Salon, is holding a Cut-a-Thon on Sunday, March 27 in hopes of raising thousands of dollars for the Healing Trees Humanitarian Program .
Healing Trees was developed after the January 8 shootings in Tucson with the theme “Heal Our Communities, Offer Remembrance and Celebrate Life."

According to a news release, The FUSION Foundation, the Arizona Community Tree Council and Trees for Tucson | Tucson Clean and Beautiful are working together to provide visual life-giving memorials commemorating the lives of those who died, honoring those who were injured and paying tribute to the Tucson community in the wake of the tragedy.
R Salon will offer $15 shampoo/cuts or manicure and $25 shampoo/cut/style. All of the Cut-a-Thon tips and fees will go towards the Healing Trees planting campaign from Earth Day on April 22 to Arbor Day on April 29."Salons have always been gathering spots within a community and we wanted to use our stylists and services to donate our time for this worthy cause,” said salon owner Rick Patrick.
